The Present Maltesa....
If you are playing in Maltesa, in a thread designed to be in the 'present' please note that the current year is 795MR. This is in the Malteese Reckoning, marking the passge of 795 years after the end the Demon War in which vampires and demons and all manner of 'evil' creatures were ejected from the country at the hands of the united elves and humans.

In the Elven Reckoning, similiarly, the year is 2210ER, marking the 2210th year of the reign of Amadorë Fenwyn, King of the elves of Borenia.



Humans are frightened. Having recently recovered from the terrors of the War Of The Demon Hordes, animosity between humans and non-humans is as bad as it has ever been. Left, right and centre, humans are forming bands to hunt down and destory non-mortals as they see fit, often with the backing of The Black Fist.

The previous summer, spent primarily fighting has led to a winter and spring in which, though famine is far off, is less than comfortable for those more accustomed to full bellies and purses.
